Wes Welker to the Denver Broncos [UPDATE: 2-Year, $12 Million Deal]
Wes Welker has agreed to terms with the Denver Broncos according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Guess there was no bluff.
Peyton Manning is happy. Tom Brady is sad.
So the Broncos now have Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker plus Eric Decker? Is there a better receiving trio in the NFL?
Discuss.

Laurent Robinson cut by the Jaguars. That worked out well.

Give Welker credit. He knows how to gravy-train HOF QBs. Coulda ended up in Jacksonville getting killed by errant and ill-timed Blame Gabbert and Henne throws.

I hope it’s DEN-IND and IND wins. God that would be hilarious.

This cries out for the “Tom Brady is a sad panda” picture.

Denver does play at New England in the regular season, at least.

Megatron and any two scrubs off the street.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:04 PM
Could I be one of those scrubs?

Is anyone really shocked? When you’re surrounded by underachieving receivers in Dallas you’re going to get the ball thrown at you a lot. He had one year wonder written all over him.

This should make Gisele happy.

Welker is a system WR.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:10 PM
I believe he had more concussions last season than the Jags had wins.

Meanwhile, Tawmy Brady is sitting on the floor of his bedroom, rocking back and forth blasting “I Know It’s Gonna Happen Someday” by Morrissey

Tom Brady has two tight ends and what WRs?
Broncos offense will be sick again.
really gotta wonder how pissed Brady is. Unless he loves Edelman.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:14 PM
Reche Caldwell is available

Mike Wallace and any two scrubs off the street.

Beat me to it.

The Patriots own the farm on quick gritty white receivers, they’ll do fine without Welker.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:15 PM
Thanks for taking less money Tom, we are still too cheap to sign your best WR and good friend. Bob Kraft has instead decided to throw a killer 24th birthday for his lady friend.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:17 PM
Seriously hope this happens
March 13th, 2013 at 5:19 PM
I don’t know what this means. What system would that be?
March 13th, 2013 at 5:20 PM

Amendola is available, that might actually be an upgrade over Welker.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:24 PM
2 yrs 10 mill is what pats offered
March 13th, 2013 at 5:25 PM
He’ll be 28 this year, and seems to be injury prone. Don’t get where all this Amendola love has come from.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:25 PM
Here’s a little something for Soused when he shows up for this party.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:26 PM
eh, not like they were that far off, then.
in reality, if gronk and hernandez stay healthy welker won’t see 100+ catches in that offense again.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:27 PM
So the last week has seen the deaths of Alvin Lee, Peter Banks and Clive Burr.
Not a good week to be an aging rock ‘n’ roller.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:33 PM
Good thing he’s going to a great system.
Looks like the Pats are moving towards the first 4-TE offense.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:37 PM
he managed to put up numbers with Sam Bradford. impressive.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:38 PM
Injury history is a concern, I should add a “when healthy” qualifier.
March 13th, 2013 at 5:56 PM
julio jones, roddy white and harry douglas are a lot better than thomas, welker and decker. haha. funny when you think about it.
March 13th, 2013 at 6:12 PM
That wouldn’t even happen in a video game.
