Bobby Valentine Said He Would Punch a WEEI Host in the Mouth
The Bobby Valentine/Red Sox soap opera continues. The Red Sox manager joined WEEI’s “The Big Show” today with Glenn Ordway and Michael Holley. When asked if he had “checked out” on this season, Valentine said he would punch the radio host in the mouth. The incident happens around the 2:55 mark.
WEEI: You do get the impression that maybe you’ve kind of checked out. Have you checked out of this?
BV: What an embarrassing thing to say. You know, if I was there I’d punch you right in the mouth. How’s that sound?
Valentine also resented criticism for showing up late to a game in Oakland when his son’s flight was delayed at the San Francisco airport. During his defense of himself over said incident, he throws Joe Maddon under the bus for showing up late to games.
As Jimmy Traina points out, He also referred to the duo as a “DP combination” at the beginning of the interview.

Pretty much everyone that works for WEEI deserves a punch in the mouth. I just assumed that it was going to be Dennis or Callahan.

When I forget to press the mute button at work, I would prefer if everyone in vicinity of my cubicle didn’t know that my attention isn’t totally on processing annuities.

Selective reporting, you forget to add that he laughed after saying he’d punch the guy in the face.

Hitting ‘Block’ and watching it disappear was very satisfying.
