Ayton spent the last two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers and before that, spent five years with the Phoenix Suns.
The Lakers are hoping the former prized draft pick will be the missing piece that fits their other big name puzzle pieces in LeBron James and Luka Doncic.
Deandre Ayton addresses his critics at his Lakers introductory press conference:

In his introductory press conference with the Lakers. Ayton talked about how the critics are what fuels him, and that this move to Los Angeles is perfect timing.
It's also perfect timing for the Lakers, who are in desperate need of strong play from a center. You know, since they traded Anthony Davis for Doncic back in February.

Ayton finished last season averaging 14 points per game and 10 rebounds, which is better rebound numbers than another top big man free agent, Myles Turner, who averaged just 6.5 rebounds this past season.
Are the Lakers finished building their roster for next season, and if they are, will James still want to be a part of the team? The summer may be far from over for the franchise.
