Terrible, terrible news. Condolences to his family and the girlfriend’s family. NFL will be scrambling to make sense of this tragedy.
December 1st, 2012 at 11:23 AM
Holy shit, did everybody see that he apparently killed himself in front of Pioli and Crennell?
December 1st, 2012 at 11:23 AM

And, so far, the NFL seems to be moving towards not cancelling the game.
December 1st, 2012 at 11:26 AM
Wasn’t Pioli the guy who left garbage in the stairwell to see who would clean it up? I think he was, I think he was.
December 1st, 2012 at 11:26 AM
Where’s the link saying he did it in front of Crennel?

too bad they can’t let each team decide for itself
December 1st, 2012 at 11:28 AM
If it happened in front of others, thanks Whoever that it didn’t go further than it did. Truly sad story.
December 1st, 2012 at 11:28 AM
Concussions. Or steroids. Possibly Joe Paterno. Or because they cheered Cassels injury.
Sad situation, wish everyone there the best.

Eh, fuck it. Obviously an awful story, but there’s not much to do but joke about it.

Everything I’m saying is coming from twitter. The Crennel/Pioli thing came from an ESPN Radio official account

Or Pioli discovered some deep, dark secret through a bug in Belcher’s residence.

December 1st, 2012 at 11:33 AM
Like the comment, ”The Chiefs will remember Belcher by using
the shotgun formation for the first play on offense”.

Wondering if the whole sequence was planned or if the suicide was a response to the murder. Anyone read anything about that?

If he killed himself in front of the Chiefs coaches and they actually play the game tomorrow, how is that going to go? That seems like torture
December 1st, 2012 at 11:52 AM
The NFL is struggling to cultivate the league. Its like the NFL vs the players. Seems like more crazy shit going on now than the 90s and 80s. Goodell needs to get this shit under control.
December 1st, 2012 at 11:56 AM
When else could they play it?
December 1st, 2012 at 12:03 PM
It’s Chiefs-Panthers…Play it Wildcard weekend, neither team is going to the playoffs….With that in mind my serious proposal is just scrap the game. If I’m KC I’d take the forfeit loss rather than put my players out there a little over 24 hours after this. Don’t know if the NFL will have that tho as it could be construed as tanking for a better pick too…
December 1st, 2012 at 12:13 PM
I’d be alright with any decision really (play or cancel, don’t think re-schedule is feasible). Personally I’d go with the business as usual approach, but I can see the cancellation argument. Not only for the Chiefs, but some fans won’t want to go to the one of the scenes of a gruesome sequence.

No thank you.
Gotta say, I wasn’t thinking about anything funny until I came here (heard it on Facebook earlier today) and I’m kinda enjoying the gallows humor.
