Eleven months ago, a Seattle ownership group was putting together a plan to bring a NBA team back to the city, and the target was Sacramento. Today, Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Maloofs are finalizing a deal to sell the Kings to that group, led by Christopher Hansen and Microsoft chairman Steve Ballmer. The sale–which is described as being at “first and goal at the 1” by a source–would be for $500 million. The new ownership group would then apply for relocation by March, in order to start the 2013-2014 season in Seattle.
