Chris Culliver of the 49ers to Artie Lange on Having a Gay Teammate: "gotta get up out of here" [UPDATE: Audio]

Chris Culliver, a second year cornerback on the 49ers, did an interview with comedian Artie Lange, and Super Bowl week is about to get interesting. During what has been a slow week in New Orleans, Culliver’s comments on having a gay teammate – especially in the wake of these Kwame Harris court documents – will probably make headlines everywhere shortly. Via the Mercury News:

"“I don’t do the gay guys man,” Culliver said. “I don’t do that. No, we don’t got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do. “Can’t be with that sweet stuff. Nah … can’t be … in the locker room man. Nah.” Culliver suggested that homosexual athletes keep their sexuality private until 10 years after they retire."

I haven’t heard the Lange interview yet, but we’re looking for audio. The 49ers haven’t had a comment yet. [Mercury News; Audio via Yahoo]
