Enter Dakota and Dylan Gonzalez, 6-foot twins from Idaho whose mom, Angie Snider, was a former Kansas star. They’re following in their mom’s footsteps and will play for the Jayhawks.

To the best of my knowledge, neither can dunk and neither is pegged to be a star on the level of Diggins or Delle Donne. Both are 3-star recruits and have dominated the basketball scene in Idaho for four years.

But the sisters are already social media stars. Both have over 100,000 followers on Instagram. How many women’s high school basketball players have over 7,000 followers on twitter? When websites are creating slideshows and message boards are going bananas and YouTube singing videos are well-received … yeah, the internet has already begun to deem them a big deal.

For comparison’s sake, Andrew Wiggins, the Canadian high school star who is considered the Next Big Thing, has over 50k twitter followers. He’ll be 1-and-done (probably at Kentucky).

No word yet on whether or not Kansas football coach Charlie Weis thinks the twins will turn into the “secret recruiting weapon” Diggins became for Notre Dame.
