Brandon Jennings, Who Last Year Said He Wanted to ‘Explore His Options,’ Can’t Be Happy He Was Benched Down the Stretch
Remember how Brandon Jennings made it quite clear last February he wanted to explore his options when his rookie contract in Milwaukee was up? Well what if the Bucks have had enough of him and want to go in another direction?
Take Tuesday night. The Bucks, locked in a tight game on the road in Dallas, went with a backcourt of Monta Ellis and JJ Redick, and left Brandon Jennings on the bench. The Bucks won, 95-90.
“I felt that group was playing well together,” Boylan said. “I saw the game kind of slipping from us a little bit. I needed to get those guys out there again. I went back to J.J. and obviously it worked out for us.”
Oh. Ellis said after the game he’s been playing the point lately. Jennings, aka Young Money, only played 32 minutes and shot 3-of-11. Ellis had nine assists to only six for Jennings. Hmmmm.
There’s no guarantee the Bucks will be able to afford Redick in the offseason, but if they do decide to slide Ellis to point, what’s your best guess on where Jennings ends up? Might they trade him the way the Jazz dealt Deron Williams, so as not to lose him in the summer of 2014 for nothing?
Can’t imagine the market is a big one for Jennings (18.7 ppg, 6.7 apg, 40 percent FGs). Dallas, maybe? Might want to spend the summer making 500 shots a day, Mr. Jennings.

Those are higher level Jeremy Lin numbers. Maybe Houston will take him.
February 27th, 2013 at 6:19 PM
Knicks.
February 27th, 2013 at 6:22 PM
He gets pissed at the shitty offers and takes the $5mm MLE from the Heat.
February 27th, 2013 at 6:23 PM
Anything to take him off our hands. I know its a small sample size but Ellis and Redick have looked pretty good together out there. Jennings can pout all he wants, he is still basically the same player he was in his rookie year, immature, low shooting %, and thinks he is WAY better than he actually is.
February 27th, 2013 at 6:23 PM
Probably the Kings since they like to collect shoot first PG.
February 27th, 2013 at 6:24 PM
Is this a pattern? Or has he had one game recently where he played just 32 minutes?
February 27th, 2013 at 6:24 PM
Bucks can match any offer for Jennings.
February 27th, 2013 at 6:30 PM
Seems like a sign/trade candidate.
February 27th, 2013 at 6:31 PM
only played 32 minutes
That’s a pretty big chunk of minutes
February 27th, 2013 at 6:31 PM
Jesus, just contract that team already
February 27th, 2013 at 6:32 PM
only played 32 minutes
That’s a pretty big chunk of minutes
I know! It’s like 12/18ths of the game.
February 27th, 2013 at 6:35 PM
took me a second to check the math on that one
February 27th, 2013 at 6:35 PM
Seems like Jennings is in a long line of inefficient, crappy shooting guards. Will probably end up being the left-handed Jamal Crawford and finally be useful six years from now coming off the bench for a contender.
February 27th, 2013 at 6:36 PM
took me a second to check the math on that one
It took me far more than a second to un-reduce that fraction.

February 27th, 2013 at 9:01 PM
Haha Wolverines. Kiss that what would’ve been a fraudulent #1 seed out of the window now.
February 27th, 2013 at 9:02 PM
Uconn just tied GTown on a 3 with 2 seconds left
February 27th, 2013 at 9:05 PM

February 27th, 2013 at 9:33 PM
Damned if it only happens at home and not at work also.
February 27th, 2013 at 9:38 PM
Not going to lie. I turned it off whem Michigan went up 15 with about 10 minutes to play.
February 27th, 2013 at 9:38 PM
Steph Curry has 30 points vs the Knicks…its mid 3rd quarter
February 27th, 2013 at 9:38 PM
Woah, UM was up that much? Damn
February 27th, 2013 at 9:41 PM
Knicks-warriors tied at 67. Curry has 35 for GS
February 27th, 2013 at 9:43 PM
Watching “The Wire” again. Most of the way through Season 2…. damn I forgot how many nice sets of tits are in the show.
February 27th, 2013 at 9:43 PM
Lots of fat guys eh?
February 27th, 2013 at 9:45 PM
It was close at halftime, then Michigan was suddenly up 12 about two or three minutes into the second half. Then it was a 10 point game until Michigan made it the aforementioned 15.
February 27th, 2013 at 9:47 PM
That’s the Sopranos, AP.
One of the Euro hookers Jimmy gets with though is stacked.
February 27th, 2013 at 9:49 PM
The Wire. Forgetting how many nice sets of tits were in it. Euro hookers. Only question is why didn’t I ever watch that show?
February 27th, 2013 at 9:51 PM
I’m not one of those go crazy about it people, just like I won’t rub your face in “Breaking Bad”, but it’s a good show to tear through on DVD, or Comcast on Demand (it’s free, and free HBO for a few months).
Spoiler alert: Bad guys win, good guys lose, everyone else dies.
February 27th, 2013 at 9:52 PM
The Wire is great, still havent seen it. I just know its great
February 27th, 2013 at 9:53 PM
So Michigan will get the best #2 seed with their 2 more losses to Indiana and MSU. Okay.
February 27th, 2013 at 9:56 PM
Id rather play duke than gonzaga. Easier to beat Duke
February 27th, 2013 at 10:01 PM
I didn’t watch a single episode of Breaking Bad this past season. I followed it religiously up until then, I just got sick of watching it.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:03 PM
And what’s this about free HBO for a few months? I got rid of HBO once the promotional price ran out on it, too
Jewishcheap to pay full price for that shit. With Game of Thrones starting back up, free HBO would be fine by me.February 27th, 2013 at 10:04 PM
Avatar bet: Michigan wins both, you get a Stafford avatar until the NCAA tournament is over. Michigan loses both, I’ll get a Tribe one. Split, bet is off.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:08 PM
I still havent watched breaking bad at all
February 27th, 2013 at 10:08 PM
Michigan beats IU and MSU, I rock Hillbilly. Michigan loses both you rock Tribe? Deal.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:10 PM
Ours is about to expire, and I don’t think they’ll re-up for free. IIRC, we’ll lose it with one or two weeks left in the GoT season, too. Shitty, but I start working crazy hours in July, so I won’t watch much TV anyway.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:12 PM
Ive also never had HBO
February 27th, 2013 at 10:12 PM
That sucks, they probably wouldn’t do that for me then anyways since I just had a promo a few months ago. Those movie channels aren’t worth the normal price to me. They do play some good stuff, but there’s just as much crap on there that isn’t worth watching as well.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:13 PM
Yep. Starts after the IU/Michigan game on 3/10 until the tourny is over. I’ll pick an awesome Stafford pic for you.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:14 PM
Maybe I’ll wait for the last episode of GoT and buy HBO, watch the whole season On Demand in a night or two, and then cancel it.
/Stickin’ it to the man
//Charge me for 6 months anyways
February 27th, 2013 at 10:14 PM
We had basic+internet, and the deal gave us digital/DVR/HBO, and was cheaper. Once it’s done, we’ll be back to non-digital + internet. Only thing I’ll miss is Preds games, and I may try to get that package.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:16 PM
Comcast is terrible. The people who work for them are all horrible humans. Any time you can stick it to them is great. They keep trying to re-brand, but they’ll always be the asshole who stole money from my account.
I heard DirecTV isn’t much better.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:17 PM
DirectTV is awesome.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:17 PM
Steph curry now with 46 points.
Time warner doesnt seem that bad after hearing comcast stories
February 27th, 2013 at 10:18 PM
I don’t know many people that have Dish or Satellite, but when I thought about switching it was not only around the same price monthly but there was a ridiculous start up fee with it. No thanks.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:22 PM
They waive all that shit if you tell them you’d switch but aren’t paying it. DirecTV sucks for about 30 minutes the 4 or 5 times a year we get a major storm and I have to go out one or twice a winter and knock snow off the dish, but it’s still a lot cheaper than cable. No taxes, local fees, etc. either.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:22 PM
Yeah, and a contract with DirectTV. I know a few people who had big problems with contracts/prices etc, plus the prices end up higher than Comcast. Doesn’t mean I won’t play them all off each other for the best deal, but I don’t like contracts. Finally just got done with my Verizon phone contract, and gonna keep that month to month, since nothing on the iPhone5 made me want to upgrade.
/is actually Jewish
//and cheap
February 27th, 2013 at 10:24 PM
I’d heard that but honestly didn’t believe it.
I’m not.
Definitely am.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:24 PM
Thanks Fontes. I’ll look into it, but they better not sweet talk me with low costs then price raises. If they want a contract, I want average monthly value. I don’t need a reverse hockey deal, paying heavy on the back end.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:27 PM
Knowing WWoS is Jewish brings everything into perspective
February 27th, 2013 at 10:32 PM
Dish is 50/mo, 25/mo for 12 months initially. Seems like $200 setup/dish fee is waived. 67/42 per month for 2nd TV. A reasonable deal if there’s no other fees… we’ll see. Dunno what to do about internet.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:34 PM
Tyson chandler has 16 pts 27 rebounds. Steph curry has 52 points. Awesome game in the garden. 2 pt game 2 minutes left on ESPN
February 27th, 2013 at 10:38 PM
Only found out myself less than a year ago, actually. But yeah, it answered a lot of questions.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:38 PM
52 points by Curry alone? Wonder what Spoeltra considers that, seeing as how he called 2 of the best in the game combining for 79 in a game that had 2 OT’s putting up video game numbers.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:40 PM
How do you just find that out a year ago? Long lineage or something? My aunt started tracing our family tree back, and when she started getting to third world countries my ears stopped and my legs started working. Walked the fuck out. I’m not hearing that shit, Auntie!!!
February 27th, 2013 at 10:42 PM
$17 a month for a 2nd TV is steep. I pay $6. I have Total Choice Monthly with two receivers and pay $70.85 out the door with no contract. Yes, you can get it cheaper at first. Just telling you what I pay as an eight year subscriber.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:45 PM
Also, I’ve had two service calls in the eight years. One was a receiver that took a shit. The other was to move the dish since some trees grew and got in the way. Never charged me a dime. Just thanked me for my business.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:46 PM
Last thing: I also do not have a HD package/receivers nor do I have a DirectTV DVR. That can also impact the total price.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:48 PM
You see if that was Comcast, dropping shorts turning around and grabbing your ankles would have been standard practice.
February 27th, 2013 at 10:51 PM
I just found out because my mom told me she was Jewish (her parents both were, but left the religion), making me 50% ethnic and 100% maternal (how you determine Jewish-ness).
That’s all good to know, Fontes. I’ll keep it in mind. Do they have internet? Without that, it’s tough for me to bite. I don’t want internet + TV to be more than $100. It’s just not worth that much to me.
