Yaya Toure Got Clotheslined During Man City-Real Madrid Friendly

Manchester City and Real Madrid played a preseason club friendly today in Australia. During the match Real Madrid keeper Keylor Navas came off his line and dropped City midfielder Yaya Toure with an inadvertent clothesline/body block.

Despite the collision, Toure stayed in the match and later scored a penalty.

Of note, the Guardian match report from the game didn’t even mention the collision and there doesn’t seem to be much, if any, outcry that Toure stayed in the game. You’d think a team with City’s ambitions would err on the side of caution with one of their key players in a totally meaningless game …
