The ongoing construction at Wrigley Field remains a behind-schedule disaster. The bleachers won’t be ready until mid-season in part because a cold Chicago winter was just not something that could be planned for, and renovations might (read: will) take at least a year longer than originally projected. The fight between Cubs brass and their rooftop bleacher neighbors has been well-documented.
Beth Murphy, who owns the Murphy’s Bleachers bar where the sign up-top was from, has been a contentious spokeswoman on the rooftops’ behalf throughout the years. It’s not especially difficult to see why she’d be taking pleasure in the Cubs’ construction misfortunes.
