You have to hand it to the Capitals’ Mathieu Perreault. Not many goal celebrations end with a player crumpled up on the ice holding his face. Perreault took a puck off the face – specifically the tongue – in the third period of Washington’s 5-2 loss to Ottawa Wednesday and got credit for one of Washington’s goals. The best part of the video is Perreault looking back to see the puck go in while he falls to the ground. if the Capitals want to climb back into the playoff race, maybe they should concentrate on more traditional goals.
