Warriors Beat and Frustrate Clippers, Mo Speights Explains Differences Between Teams

The Warriors beat the Clippers on Wednesday, 115-98, reminding the world of the true order of the Western Conference. After a 14-2 start, the Clippers have dropped 5 of their last 7 games while the Warriors have ascended to the top of the standings.

Last night’s game showed just how real the gap was between the two teams and Marreese Speights is more qualified than anyone to point out where the Clippers fall short. Ball movement and defense are the keys (not to mention talent), but the most important thing might be bucking their reputation as whiners. Those are my words. Here are his. Via OC Register:

"“First we need to start really just leaving the refs alone,” Speights said. “Guys just got to sacrifice, do some other things than scoring, do some other things than your personal goals. Just try something new. “They’ve been doing it here for four or five years and it hasn’t been working, so it’s time to try something new.”"

Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and Doc Rivers all earned technical fouls during the loss. For Blake it was his first of the season, but he must have taken one for DeAndre Jordan who is second in the league behind DeMarcus Cousins.
