The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers have a history of not liking each other.

In fact, there is an entire YouTube channel dedicated to their scuffles…

Today’s chapter didn’t happen during the game, rather it came after the final whistle when Golden State’s Draymond Green was conducting his post game interview — and Clippers guard Dahntay Jones walked into view of the camera. Intentional or not, Jones bumped into Green as he walked past … and Green did NOT take the gesture kindly.

This wasn’t the end of it.

Draymond crucified Dahntay in front of the media, once he got to the locker room…

…Saying things like:

  • “I think he wanted a reaction from me, but he don’t play.”
  • “Me gettin suspended and him getting suspended, that’s different…”
  • “When you don’t play, that’s [probably] his role on that team…”
  • “I’ve had that role once in my career…”
  • “I can’t be getting fined, suspended and hurt my team … when, if he gets suspended, they may not even notice.”
  • “I expect that to be reviewed by the NBA…”
  • “Hey, at least he got some camera time!”

You can catch the full interview here…

What was Dahntay Jones’ response to this, you ask? He denied that the bump was intentional, and told reporters after the game: “That’s not how you bump somebody if you purposely want to bump them.”

DING DING DING.

This isn’t over. It never is with these two franchises. Dare I say: Clippers/Warriors is the best current rivalry in the NBA?

The next time these two face-off is March 31st in Los Angeles. Needless to say, no-one on either team is going to forget about this … Doc Rivers is 100% going to play Dahntay Jones with the purpose of getting him under Draymond’s skin … and the upcoming game is officially must-see-TV.
