VIDEO: Yankees Fan Loses Ring During Marriage Proposal

Andrew Fox planned to propose to his girlfriend, Heather Terwilliger, at the couple’s first Yankees game Tuesday night. Any dude who has popped the question understands the unique sense of anxiety such an activity can cause. So, any decent human being wouldn’t wish what happened next on even their fiercest enemy.

When Fox’s big moment came, he opened a box containing the engagement ring only to find … nothing. His moment of panic was captured on the scoreboard as the stadium waited for resolution. The ring was nowhere to be found. On the biggest stage of his life, he was choking. Three months’ salary down the drain in a matter of seconds.

This was bad. Real bad.

Luckily, the couple were in the midst of Yankees fans, the most understanding and generous people in the world. Their section joined in a frantic search for the ring, which lasted several minutes before Terwilliger noticed it in the cuff of her jeans.

With the weight of the world off his shoulders, Fox continued with his proposal, which was accepted.

All’s well that ends well. At least they’ll have a good story to tell their children one day.
