Joe Panik’s walk-off double in the bottom of the 13th inning against the Cubs forced a Game 4 and capped a five-hour four-minute marathon. Brandon Crawford waltzed home from second as Panik’s drive caromed off the wall in deep right-center.

Panik’s earned the final heroics in a seesaw affair.

Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta blasted a three-run homer to get the scoring started. The Giants scratched out two runs before a three-run eighth which included a two-run triple from Conor Gillaspie. Kris Bryant blasted a two-run homer in the ninth to force extra innings.

As expected, killing the Giants during an even year has proven difficult. The Cubs get another crack at it today as John Lackey takes the mound against Matt Moore.
