All the trash talk was immediately put behind Georges St. Pierre and Josh Koscheck. That much is usual. Even Tito Ortiz has raised an opponents arm after a beatdown following a war of words. Sure, he gave an unconcious Ken Shamrock the double middle finger first, but its a start. What isn’t usual is that GSP and Kos both admitted in the octagon that the talk was to sell the fight. I feel like you shouldn’t be admitting that. We know its true, but still.

Thiago Alves looked good and then called out Jake Shields. That’s not happening anytime soon. How about BJ Penn after he gets Jon Fitch’d? Alves remains a scary dude.

Jim Miller beat exciting young fighter Charles Oliveira with what can only be described as a “surprising” kneebar early in the first round. Miller has won 6 straight and his only career loses are to Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, the two guys fighting for the title in a couple weeks. Its time to recognize Jim Miller people. He’s going to have to beat someone like Kenny Florian, Sean Sherk or Evan Dunham first, but he needs a title shot soon. Maybe Miller and could replace Dennis Siver on the Australia card and take on George Sotiropoulos. Pipe dream I know. That’s a showcase for Soto. Guess Miller can wait a year.

Mac Danzig extended his UFC career with a backpedaling KO of Joe Daddy Stevenson. Joe Daddy keeps his job because he’s always trying to finish a fight. Wins be damned.

Stefan Struve and Sean McCorkle… I kind of want to see them fight again. What better do they have to do? Will we ever see two guys that tall fight in the UFC again? Its hard to believe that Struve is still only 22. He’s going to get thrown to a top heavyweight next. Struve-Lesnar might be interesting. Hopefully, McCorkle sticks around for a little while. He’s amusing if nothing else.

Jesse “Water” Bongfeldt and Rafael Natal fought to a majority draw. Rare. Dustin Hazelett got submitted for his third straight loss. Props to Mark Bocek, but Hazelett is going to have to move to the senior circuit.

Overall, it was a damn solid show. The PPV numbers should be impressive. Hopefully the UFC starts airing all their prelims on UFC.com.
