Former Syracuse football player Naesean Howard was charged with stabbing two 21-year-olds. Syracuse.com is reporting the two alleged victims were his former teammates, Orange football players Chauncey Scissum and Corey Winfield.

"Officers went to a stabbing at 321 Slocum Ave. shortly after 6 p.m. Two men, 21, had been stabbed multiple times, police said. One victim was driven to the hospital in a private car while the other was taken to Upstate University Hospital by ambulance. Police don’t consider their injuries to be life-threatening. Police charged Howard, a West Genesee High School graduate, with two counts of assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. Howard, 20, was held in the Onondaga County Justice Center."

Howard left the team after a suspension during the 2014 season. He had enrolled at Syracuse and wanted to rejoin the team for 2016.

Scissum and Winfield, both redshirt juniors, are returning starters in Syracuse’s secondary.
