Michigan State and Minnesota faced off on Thursday night in East Lansing. Down 77-72, Minnesota needed multiple 3s to win the game. With 17 seconds left, Minnesota’s Joey King pump faked and then went up for a 3 and was fouled by Branden Dawson. King made all 3 free throws cutting the Spartan’s lead to 2 points.

Minnesota quickly fouled Denzel Valentine on the Spartan’s next possession and after going 1-2 at the line, the Gophers trailed by 3.

With 3 seconds left in the second half, and a victory seemingly in hand for the Spartans barring any last second miracles, Tom Izzo’s squad failed to finish. Minnesota’s Carlos Morris pulled up for a game tying 3 and not only did he make the shot, but he was fouled by Gavin Schilling. Morris missed the free throw and the game ended up heading into OT where the Gophers prevailed 96-90.
