Tom Brady re-negotiated his contract again. That includes a $28 million bonus and re-structuring of the base salaries. His 2016 salary goes down quite a bit. This all matters in cap charges, but it also might matter in the certain legal issue under appeal.

Brady had his four game suspension reversed before the season at the trial court level. The Court of Appeals just heard oral arguments on his case, and some of the areas of questioning did not bode well for Tom Brady. The chance of a reversal exists, which would mean Brady serves the suspension, now, at the start of the 2016 season.

Whether it was a factor or not, Brady now saves about $470,000 per game if he is suspended, compared to what he would have lost in game checks.
