Richard Sherman and Tom Brady engaged in some verbal sparring when the Seahawks played the Patriots in 2012. Seattle emerged victorious, Sherman tweeted (and later deleted) the above photo, and said about Brady’s patriots, “I don’t think they’re built for a heavyweight fight.”

Still salty about that, and presumably also New England’s season-ending loss to Denver Sunday, Brady offered criticism of Sherman’s post-game behavior on WEEI’s Dennis and Callahan. “He’s that kind of guy,” Brady said, via Doug Kyed at NESN. “So, you know. I approach the game — and I have respect for my opponents. That’s the way our team always plays. We win with graciousness, and when we lose, we could do better.”

Sherman is undoubtedly distraught at this latest development, and surely wishes he could trade his team’s spot in the Super Bowl for some of that lofty graciousness.
