Tiger Woods' golf future is in trouble. Woods, who we last saw before the Hero World Challenge, has struggled over the last few years with injuries and in September, after the Wyndham Championship, Woods stepped away and underwent back surgery.

In October Woods had a follow-up back surgery performed to relieve a pinched nerve. At that time Woods said of the operation, “Via Golf.com: It’s one of those things that had to be done. I have an outstanding team of doctors, and I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

Then in December at the Hero World Challenge, Woods stated that he has no timetable for a return to golf.

"“I have no answer to that, and neither do my surgeon or physios. There is no timetable.”"

Now we hear even more grim news regarding a return.

On Sunday, @SecretTourPro shared some pretty disappointing news regarding Woods’ recovery:

Monday, Robert Lusetich, who wrote “Unplayable: An Inside Account of Tiger’s Most Tumultuous Season,” reiterated that statement:

Neither went further into detail about a return for Tiger, who is now 40 years old, but the future they are projecting isn’t looking good.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Bob Harig questions the validity of the reports:

Update: Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, calls the reports “ridiculous,” per Bob Harig.

Meanwhile, @SecretTourPro has doubled down on his initial statement.
