The Yankees tweeted out their lineup for tonight’s game against the Rockies  and it’s … well … let’s just say the phrase “Pride, Power and Pinstripes” doesn’t exactly come to mind.

Surprised whomever runs the Yankees account didn’t add a #28 to cap off the tweet.

Adding insult to injury — which the Yankees have many — Joe Girardi decided to bat starting pitcher David Phelps in the No. 8 hole ahead of rookie catcher Austin Romine. This, in a lineup that also includes Lyle Overbay batting cleanup.

Through all the injuries to players like Curtis Granderson, Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira, among others, the Yankees are still keeping their heads above water at 18-13. Wednesday night’s lineup is glimpse for Bombers fans, if ever briefly to see how the other half lives.

If you can access the Yankees radio broadcast tonight, try to make some time to track it down and tune in.

Should be looooooooads of fun to hear John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman try to decipher why the Yankees would bat their pitcher who’s never had a Major League at-bat eighth.

Oh my goodness gracious.
