The Minnesota Vikings Have Blocked Two Punts for Touchdowns Today
By Jason Lisk

The Minnesota Vikings had not had a punt block touchdown since 1986. They are making up for lost time today. Minnesota got one punt block returned for a touchdown in the first quarter, and then another in the second quarter. How rare is this?
It’s the first time it has happened in a NFL game (where one team scored twice by punt block) since the Kansas City Chiefs did it in 1990 against the Cleveland Browns. It has happened only two other times since 1940: the Dolphins in 1973 and the New York Giants in 1943, according to team game info at pro-football-reference.com.
