Texas Longhorns: Kendall Sanders and Montrel Meander Facing Felony Sexual Assault Charges

Texas wide receivers Kendall Sanders and Montrell Meander have been charged with sexual assault, stemming from a June 22 dorm room incident. The players face second-degree felony charges. Sanders faces an additional charge of “improper photography.”

"Texas athletic officials were aware of a possible incident, and it was initially reported by the American Statesman on June 22. At that time, the Statesman did not name the players as they were simply being questioned by UT police. “All three individuals involved knew each other, and the two suspects have been cooperating with the investigation,” UT police said initially in its daily report distributed campus wide."

Sanders, the No. 39 overall recruit in the Class of 2012, was Texas’ third leading receiver last season, with 37 catches for 361 yards and a touchdown. Meander redshirted as a freshman in 2013.

UPDATE: Head coach Charlie Strong confirmed the players have been suspended indefinitely.
