Terrance Williams' Bone-Headed Play Costs Cowboys Chance At Win

Terrance Williams is going to have a rough time during his team’s film session this week. The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver cost his team a chance to go for a win late against the New York Giants on Sunday.

The Cowboys trailed 20-19 with 12 seconds remaining  and they had possession on their own 46-yard-line with no timeouts. Quarterback Dak Prescott found Williams open just inside Giants territory, and the fourth-year wideout had a completely open lane to the sideline. Instead, he cut inside for some inexplicable reason. Williams was quickly tackled by Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and the clock ran out before Dallas could spike the ball and stop the clock.

That is one of the more bone-headed plays you’ll ever see. To make matters worse, Williams’ teammate Dez Bryant was pointing for him to get out of bounds:

Now look, had Williams gotten out of bounds, Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey still would have had a monstrously long field goal attempt ahead of him. Still, Williams not getting out of bounds meant that he didn’t even get a chance to try it.
