Teddy Bridgewater Won't Play vs. Green Bay, Christian Ponder to Start

Teddy Bridgewater electrified the home crowd in Minnesota’s 41-28 victory over the Falcons last week, but turned an ankle in the 4th quarter and left the game. Rather than rush him back tonight against the Packers, he’s going to sit out. Christian Ponder, who started the season as the No. 3 QB on the depth chart, will start.

This move shouldn’t really surprise anyone. Why rush a rookie back on a short week when he has to go on the road against a Packers defense that confused Jay Cutler last week, intercepting him twice?

Perhaps the Vikings also saw this:

* Bears, 41 carries, 235 yards, 5.7 yards per carry
* Lions, 38 carries, 115 yards, 3.0 yards per carry
* Jets, 37 carries, 147 yards, 4.0 yards per carry
* Seahawks, 37 carries, 207, 5.6 yards per carry

I’d expect a low-scoring rout … unless the Vikings can establish a run game early, and keep the game close until eventually succumbing to Aaron Rodgers, like my Jets did. My heart says Vikings 10, Packers 35, but my head says Vikings 13, Packers 24.

Yeah, Either way, Packers cover.
