These two teams finished the regular season with a 10-6 record, which was enough for Dallas to win the NFC East while Seattle had to settle for second place behind the Los Angeles Rams in the West. Their journey to the playoffs is somewhat similar: both had a 1-2 start and serious problems on offense, and a place in the postseason was unlikely at best.
But things slowly started to improve, and the two teams caught fire in the second half of the season. Seattle found a groove offensively, and combined with their great defense, won key games on the road and relied on the brilliance of Russell Wilson to force their way into the Playoffs.
Dallas improved by adding wide receiver Amari Cooper in a trade with the Oakland Raiders, and he was exactly what quarterback Dak Prescott needed to make big plays at the right times. Behind running back Ezekiel Elliott and a fantastic defensive unit, Dallas won seven of their last eight, conquered the division and will host a playoff game.
This promises to be a battle of two great defensive teams, and it will come down to which offensive trio makes the most plays: Dallas has Prescott, Elliott and Cooper, while Seattle will count on Wilson, receiver Tyler Lockett and running back Chris Carson. The AT&T Stadium is ready to roll, and this will be a great game of football.
