Sam Bradford's Agent: Would Have Been Nice If They Told Him About Draft Plans

Sam Bradford and his agent Tom Condon are making a lot of noise in the hope the Philadelphia Eagles trade the 28-year-old quarterback. Condon’s latest statement shows the disconnect between the team and the man the Eagles chose to lead the franchise under center in 2016.

On Tuesday, Condon told ESPN the Eagles didn’t tell Bradford they were planning to move up in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft in order to select a quarterback. A move like that essentially means Bradford will be a lame signal-caller for Philadelphia.

Condon had the following to say on behalf of his client:

"“As they were making this plan, it would have been nice if they had told him about it. “It’s his right to demand a trade and he wants to be traded.”"

Condon continued, expressing frustration that the Eagles are clearly not focused on winning now:

"“Basically, our contention is that the team could have used the draft picks on offensive and defensive players for this season, to win this season. If the plan was to build for the future, where does that leave Sam this year?”"

Bradford signed a two-year, $36 million contract with the Eagles on March 1, expecting to be the team’s starter. Now that appears up in the air as Philadelphia will almost certainly select a quarterback with the second pick in this week’s draft. Bradford has a right to be upset as his future with the team looks bleak.

Condon has informed the Eagles that his client does not plan to show up at the team’s practice facility until June 7, which is the first day of mandatory mini-camp. We definitely haven’t heard the last of this story.
