Sam Bradford Returning to Eagles Today, Still Looks Silly in All This

Sam Bradford has told teammates he’s returning to the Eagles today; the news was broken by Connor Barwin on a WIP spot, and later confirmed by Ian Rapoport.

Bradford missed two weeks of team conditioning, which probably isn’t the biggest deal in the world, except for the fact that he looked really petty in staying home after the Eagles drafted Carson Wentz. It never made sense for him to be acting like this, when his lifetime record as a starting quarterback was 25-37-1.

Bradford may have been sold a bill of goods when he signed a big-money extension earlier this offseason, but he should have also realized that the Eagles weren’t committing to him long-term when his deal carried little guaranteed money after this season.

Bradford’s best case scenario, which isn’t necessarily probable based on past performance, would be to go out and have a great season and force the Eagles’ hand. Philadelphia would surely also welcome that development, and all the silliness from this offseason would thereby be forgotten.
