Ryan Mallett has been traded to the Houston Texans, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Per ESPN’s Tania Ganguli, Mallett fetched a sixth round pick; the quarterback is reunited with his former offensive coordinator from New England, Bill O’Brien.

Presumably, Mallett will be behind starter Ryan Fitzpatrick on Houston’s depth chart for the time being; Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole expects the team to cut Case Keenum, and keep third-stringer Tom Savage on the roster. Time will tell if the Texans regret not making a move for Teddy Bridgewater in this past NFL Draft.
