Ryan Lochte and his fellow swimmers involved in the now-infamous gas station incident, will face punishment from the U.S. Olympic Committee.

USOC CEO Scott Blackmun has not said what the discipline will involve, but he said it is coming after the foursome distracted the world from the actual events at the 2016 Olympics. Blackmun had the following to say:

“They let down our athletes. They let down Americans. And they really let down our hosts in Rio who did such a wonderful job, and we feel very badly about that. I think we ended up in the right place in terms of being able to shine a light on what really happened there.”

Lochte, Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen have now finally retold a true account of the night in question, with Lochte taking responsibility for the initial lie.

Hopefully a punishment is announced soon and we can forget all about this incident.
