Westbrook and the Thunder have done the smart thing to think long term. While they have basically lost a season in the prime of Westbrook and Durant’s careers, with a completely recovered Westbrook – who hadn’t missed a single game in 5 seasons – the Thunder should have a few more shots at a title.
