Robin van Persie: Scores AND Celebrates Goal vs. Arsenal

Robin van Persie scored this fine header off a Manchester United corner during Sunday’s Premier League game against Arsenal at Old Trafford. It put his team ahead 1-0 in the first half. It’s the third straight league game the Dutchman has scored against his former club.

Amazingly, van Persie decided — gasp — he would celebrate the goal against the Gunners this time around after famously declining to do so last season. There seems to be some sort of unwritten rule in England you’re not supposed to ever show any inkling of emotion when you’re playing against a former employer. Note: unwritten rules are pretty dumb on both sides of the Atlantic.

I smell a postgame talking point …
