Rob Bolden Made an Official Visit to LSU

It’s not a terrible move. Bolden’s 2011 season was a mess. He completed just 39 percent of his passes in limited action with a 2-7 touchdown ratio. However, his freshman season was not that bad (58 percent completion, 7.0 yards per attempt). That and his transfer attempt strongly suggest he was not happy in State College.

There is a chance Bolden may blossom with a change of scenery. A quarterback coach that is not Jay Paterno could coax out some of the raw ability from Bolden that saw him rated the second overall dual threat quarterback out of high school in 2010.

Best case: Bolden becomes a plausible starter for 2013. Worst case: LSU adds some depth and blows a scholarship.
