Ricardo Allen Interception Seals Falcons Victory Over Eagles

Falcons safety Ricardo Allen intercepted a ball that was thrown by Sam Bradford and tipped by Eagles receiver Jordan Matthews to clinch a victory for Atlanta. It was a little bit of an odd game. The Falcons got off to a fast start, going up 20-3 at the half. The Eagles came all the way back, eventually taking a 24-23 fourth quarter lead before Atlanta went back up with a field goal.

Julio Jones had a monster game, catching nine balls for 141 yards and two touchdowns.

Because of the Chip Kelly narrative, expect most of the conversation to center around Philly losing rather than Atlanta winning. The Eagles coach will be scrutinized for opting to kick a 44-yard field goal on 4th-and-1 late in the game, and giving DeMarco Murray a big contract only to run him eight times tonight (Murray scored a touchdown, but only had nine yards on those carries), and not at all on the team’s last two potential go-ahead drives in the fourth quarter.

The debate circuit should be fun tomorrow.
