Penguins' Jake Guentzel Scores on First NHL Shot, Family Goes Nuts

Jake Guentzel made his NHL debut for the Pittsburgh Penguins last night and it was a memorable one. The forward scored on the first shot of his first shift against the New York Rangers, sending his family into a jubilant celebration.

Dad couldn’t believe it. Mom was a bit emotional. Brother Ryan, well, brother Ryan went nuts.

Guentzel then added another goal later in the first period. The Rangers responded by scoring five unanswered to take some of the joy out of Guentzel’s night.
