Pelicans Edge Thunder for Final Western Conference Playoff Spot

Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans clinched the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference playoffs, beating the San Antonio Spurs 108-103 Wednesday night. The win means Oklahoma City won’t make the playoffs. The two teams finished with 45-37 records. Russell Westbrook scored 37 points with eight rebounds and seven assists in the Thunder’s win over the Timberwolves, who finished with the worst record in the NBA.
New Orleans will face No. 1 Golden State in the first round. The Warriors won the season series 3-1.
