After Fox let Greg Norman go from their U.S. Open broadcast, the obvious replacement choice was Paul Azinger. According to Jamie Diaz at Golf Digest, Azinger will be taking over as Fox’s lead analyst.

Fox is in their second year of a 12-year deal to broadcast the U.S. Open and the rest of the USGA championships. The company drew plenty of criticism during their first broadcast, but Azinger’s experience should be a big improvement. Azinger, who was formerly a part of ABC’s golf coverage, was a bright spot in ESPN’s coverage of The Open Championship last year.
