Packers vs. Bears on MNF: The NFL's Oldest Rivalry

In 1932, the Packers were a three-time NFL Champion, but lost to the Bears in the finale 9-0 and the Bears won the title as a result (sorry for those of you that had the under at 7).

From 1941-1943, the Bears dominated the NFL with Sid Luckman, and lost only two regular season games and tied another – the Packers accounted for one loss and the tie. In 1944, it was the Packers and Don Hutson’s dominant performance that unseated the Bears.  In 1963, the Packers were the two-time NFL champions, and went 11-2-1, but both losses were to Chicago, who won the title instead behind Mike Ditka and Bill George. These teams don’t like each other, and they have often ruined each other’s seasons.

Tonight, both come in 2-0, and both teams are passing the ball in 2010. That’s nothing new for the Packers, who have been spoiled by the Favre era and then immediately transitioning to Rodgers, but the Bears’ all-time passing leader, Sid Luckman, played back when the schedule was 11 games, and the franchise single season leader is Erik Kramer in 1995.  If Jay Cutler stays healthy, he should surpass the franchise single season record this year.
