Oregon Teased Completely Unnecessary Glow-in-the-Dark Uniforms

With hundreds of other college football teams trying to one-up Oregon in the uniform innovation department, it’s important for the Ducks to occasionally remind everyone who’s atop the sartorial leaderboard.

And if they have to do it by teasing a uniform that will never see the gridiron, then so be it. They wrote the rules for this particular arms race. Who dares to quibble with mighty Phil Knight?

Oregon floated these glow-in-the-dark numbers to the public yesterday.

You aren’t alone if you’re wondering what practical purpose a glowing jersey serves. Most — if not all — football games are played in the presence of light. Some would argue the ability for everyone to see what’s going on is a crucial part of the formula that makes fall Saturdays so great.
