Odell Beckham Jr. At Bayern Munich Will Have USMNT Fans Thinking About What If...

New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. visited Bayern Munich’s training camp. Beckham is a soccer fan. Many will note he played soccer until age 14 and considered going to U.S. national team tryouts before opting to focus on football.
It’s a mistaken premise that “athleticism” is what holds the USMNT back. Most of “our best athletes” playing other sports would not translate well to soccer.
That said, a strong, lightning quick, hyper coordinated 5’11” wide receiver is probably the type of athlete who would translate very well. USMNT fans can’t help but wonder what if…
Even if his feet weren’t up to par, Beckham Jr. also may have had a shot to make it as an undersized goalkeeper.
