Notre Dame and Michigan Meet Under the Lights.

Caricatures: It is Brian Kelly’s second game in this rivalry and Brady Hoke’s first (as a head coach), however both are already established personalities. Kelly needs a BCS title to eradicate visions of his cartoon-like explosion against South Florida. U Mad Bro? Hoke is a man who likes meat, brats if you wish to be specific. This appeals to Michigan fans. The only thing we value more than meatitude is a smug sense of entitlement. If you close your eyes and concentrate and listen to the Incredible Hoke, you can hear Lloyd Carr #underthelights.

Stakes: Bragging rights and all that, obviously. Notre Dame needs a win. An 0-2 start with their expectations and recent history, would be disastrous. With Michigan State and Pitt up next, it could be 0-4. No better opportunity for Michigan to reassert themselves on a national stage than #underthelights.

Technicalities: Michigan vs. Western Michigan was called by mutual consent last weekend due to uncooperative weather. The NCAA has ruled the result official, but, because it was not a completed game, will not count the stats in its record book. The Big Ten and MAC, however, will count the stats in their record books. Fans will wait for the official ruling from Wikipedia #underthelights.

Key: Tommy Rees’ reaction to Greg Mattison’s blitz schemes, will the oft-heralded sophomore be the second coming of Christ or the second coming of Crist #underthelights. (bah-zing!)

Prediction: Michigan 28-24 Notre Dame, #underthelights.
