Nobody Wanted to Buy Reggie Jackson's Giant Yankee Stadium Letters

Reggie Jackson tried to sell the old Yankee Stadium letters in an auction at Sotheby’s on Wednesday night. The 13 giant letters (each 10-feet tall) were expected to fetch a price between $300,000 and $600,000. Instead, they went unsold. So now Reggie Jackson is stuck with 13 giant letters that combine to spell YANKEE STADIUM.

The heck is he supposed to do with those? Is Reggie Jackson married? I hope not. Because every day she’d be all, “Either hang up these damn letters or throw them out. Just get them out of the hall!” You know? Spouses, am I right?

Meanwhile, a 1976-era Mets bullpen cart sold for $112,500.
