The New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs were reported to be in the final stages of a trade that would send closer Aroldis Chapman to the National League Central leaders this morning, according to Fox’s Ken Rosenthal.

The New York Post’s Joel Sherman reported the Yankees would send reliever Adam Warren, top shortstop prospect Gleyber Torres and two others to the Cubs.

Jon Heyman is now reporting that the deal is in place to send Chapman to the North Siders, identifying Billy McKinney as one of the other players, in addition to the two identified by Sherman.

Adding one of the most dominant relievers in the game would bulk up an already-strong bullpen. Hector Rondon, who has a 1.95 ERA and 18 saves, would likely move into an eighth-inning role.
