NBC's Tape-Delayed Olympic Opening Ceremony Ratings Lowest Since 1992

NBC’s ratings for the Rio Olympics Opening Ceremony were the lowest they’ve been since the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. No matter how NBC wants to spin this, we should try to blame it on the pointless, annoying, ad-filled tape-delay.
NBC’s primetime Opening Ceremony (8-11pm) posted 17.2 overnight – tripling other broadcast nets combined (5.7 on ABC, CBS & FOX)

The 17.2 overnight rating is equal to what ABC pulled for the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics. The good news for NBC is that they still get their ad money.
