Movie About Hockey Enforcer Doesn't Look Like Much Of A Movie

Here’s the first trailer for Goon starring Seann William Scott as the titular goon. Trailers are usually no indication of how good a movie will be, but this one just leaves me scratching my head. I can’t imagine there being more than 10 more minutes of footage – and that’s including outtakes.

Based on the trailer, a guy played by Seann William Scott joins a hockey team because he is a good fighter. He then fights people and a hot chick tells him she likes hockey players and that she is interested in sleeping with him because he is a hockey player. The next day another team from the league comes to town and they have a guy who also likes to fight, played by Liev Schreiber. Then they fight during the game because that’s what hockey players do… Unless you’re a big fan of Sean William Scott saying “Woooo!” after a girl says she wants to have sex, I can’t imagine finding this movie very funny.

Labelled an outcast by his brainy family, a bouncer overcomes long odds to lead a team of under performing misfits to semi-pro hockey glory, beating the crap out of everything that stands in his way.

Ooh! So there will be a training montage as he learns to skate. I forgot that half-second clip was in the trailer. Man, the first five minutes of Seann William Scott being called a loser by his older, more successful siblings is really going to build the tension that leads into the 5 minutes of training that gets him onto a hockey roster and into some chick’s bed.
