Minor League Baseball Team Lines Up John Rocker Appearance for Fan Fest

The Mississippi Braves — Atlanta’s Class AA affiliate — are hosting a fan fest event on Saturday featuring a carnival, live music, and former major leaguers Bob Horner, Wes Helms, and ……. John Rocker. According to Hugh Kellenberger of The Clarion-Ledger, the team’s general manager had been aware of Rocker’s infamous SI article, but none of the former pitcher’s ensuing bigotry (which includes speaking out against MLB’s diversity initiatives, and inferring that the Holocaust would not have happened if Jewish people had had guns.)

Kellenberger wondered what the team was thinking:
