Mike Patrick After Baylor Punter Sells Call: "They're Such Fakes"

Baylor leads North Carolina in the second quarter of the Russell Athletic Bowl thanks to an offensive gameplan pulled from the 1970s. The Bears were able to score their third touchdown of the game after a roughing the kicker penalty extended a drive.

Ed Cunningham and Mike Patrick, the ESPN team tasked with calling the action, suggested Drew Galitz exaggerated the contact.

“He’s got a little smile on his face now,” Cunningham said. “I think the grab of the ankle was part of Baylor’s acting department.”

“They’re such fakes,” Patrick chimed in.

Whether you see this as a sarcastic and harmless comment or a clear example of announcing bias depends on rooting interests.

Personally I lean toward the former.
