Max Scherzer Loses Perfect Game on Hit Batter With Two Outs in Ninth, Finishes No-Hitter
Max Scherzer — coming off a game against the Brewers in which he had a complete game shutout with 16 strikeouts, one walk, and one hit given up — nearly threw a perfect game at home against the Pirates today. In a seven-pitch at-bat, Jose Tabata basically leaned into a 2-2 pitch to break up the perfection.
