Matthew Dellavedova Went to the Hospital, Turned into Teen Wolf?

Matthew Dellavedova was tremendous again in the NBA Finals, pumping in 17 points to go with five rebounds, four assists and one head-first dive into the stands chasing a loose ball. He hit possibly the most important shot in the game, this unbelievable leaner in the lane – plus the foul – when Cleveland was nursing an 81-80 lead with just over two minutes left.

Then, the Teen Wolf memes started:

Unfortunately, there’s no video or images from when Dellavedova was put on a stretcher and taken to an area hospital when severe cramping made it difficult for him to walk. He played 39 minutes, and probably chased Stephen Curry around for 28 of them. Late in the game, when it was clear Delly was spent and beat up after chasing the MVP around multiple screens on every possession, Stephen Curry had his way with other defenders, shooting the Warriors back into the game.

Eventually, he’ll have to weather the questions about diving at the back of the legs of Draymond Green, but for now, he’s the hero. In Game 1, Kyrie Irving helped LeBron with 23 points in defeat; Timofey Mozgov added 17 points and 11 rebounds in Game 2 to help out King James; and Tuesday night, it was the Little Australian.
